This book has great information if you are trying to learn best practices of API design, but its biggest downfall is that it has a lot of grammatical mistakes, and sometimes simply uses the wrong word. If you are a native English speaker this is just distracting, but may cause problems for non-native speakers. The author needs to have the book proofread before publishing the next edition. Also, if I were the author, I would have the book proofread and release a new edition anyway.
Exactly what I wanted. Not the best OAuth/ OpenID explanations, but chapters 4-12 were great.
This book serves as a great framework/guideline for any API provider. The content can easily be leveraged for best practices
The same concept is repeated multiple times. No new or significant insights or much practical ideas about API design.
Good for beginners. Could be more detailed in terms of security, performance and main obstacles for API designer. Anyway worth resting.
this book has helped me to understand the conceptual aspects regarding APIs.The author chosed an iterative style of writing, so he keeps coming back to the subjects over and over with more details or cross references inside the book at each chapter.Some important concepts are going to be printed on your mind because of the repetition but it is a tiring process.
